I was an employee and just recently started taking money I took about $7,000.00 over a two month period and was caught by Loss Prevention. I have never been in trouble before and my record is totally clean! I have a court date in September. What should I do? What could possibly happen?

This is very serious, my friend.
You must plead not guilty, hire your own lawyer, or ask for a public defender.
Make no statements, confessions, or admissions.
If you have, let your lawyer deal with that.
This type of crime ends with prison time in many cases.
If you have a clean record, a diligent lawyer, eventually show remorse, and a sympathetic judge and/or jury, you could very likely secure probation.
If convicted, you'll be ordered to make the employee whole by making restitution.
So, be ready to do that, if convicted.
Meanwhile, stay out of any new trouble.
This isn't over, and we're all innocent until the state proves what they've charged.
