In the state of Georgia, or any other state for that matter, can a Juvenile Court Judge oversee a Superior Court Murder Trial when the defendant is not a juvenile?
I'm sorry I should have said "preside" over the case. I know that other judges can sit in as acting judges, but my question is aren't judges that sit in for other judges supposed to be from the same type of court.
Not necessarily. There are various courts on a certain level and the judges can (and usually do) rotate into different courts, e.g. divorce, mental hygiene, etc.
