I received a letter in the mail recently informing me that a judement has been awarded to a collection agency against me. I was never served paperwork for the original court hearing. Upon further investigation I find that the paperwork may have been left with my 17 year old son who lived with his father (we are divorced and not on good terms). I believe this violates a law prohibiting the disclosure of any debt information to any one but the person supposedly responsible. I also believe the debt to be beyond the satutue af limitations. I want to file a motion to vacate but it is all confusing. I also want to report the disclosure of information to my Attorney general's office. What are my rights and can the cleark's office help in filing my motion?
