J Visa j-1 visa help...

im currently under j1 visa and i recently found out that this program isn't for me. the j1 visa has me working in a resort. if i leave the resort & the company which had me hired for the j1, does that mean that i have to leave the united states immediately, or can i stay until my visa expires? does me leaving the company + resort void the visa?

also, the waiver, how long does it normally take to process?

Stopping to work would be a violation of your visa. This is a good side which would address all your concerns on J visas.
