I noticed a purchase on my bank statement I didn't make and when i called the company they said it was for a site that I didn't use. So they told me if I expected fraud to contact the credit company. I realized later in the day that the site was a porn site I had caught my little cousin on using my card. At the time it was under $20 so I just told him to delete it since he used an alternate email I had logged in on the lap top he was using.
Apparently he didn't delete it. Well i called the company back to ask if a charge had been made again or if it just took them this long to charge me and the company said that a refund had been issued for everything (totaling less than $35) and that the account had be deleted and the email had been flagged. I told them I was willing to pay the money, but they kept saying the account has been shut down and then the lady (aggravated) said something about how fraud was a felony and she wouldn't tell me how much was being refunded. I finally gave up and hung up?
Did I do something Illegal? I never asked them to shut down the account and I'm sure with teenagers knowing how to use credit cards this sort of thing has happened more than once. I never contacted the police or anything and I said I was willing to pay and the customer service lady got me so I'm freaked out that I'm going to be charged with fraud over a misunderstanding. What could happen? Any feedback is highly appreciated

I don't see why this would FREAK ANYONE out.

Check with your bank in a few days, and see if the refund has been applied.

Or, contact the bank directly and advise them of the issue, and see what remedies they offer.

You don't want to be involved with minors frequenting PORN sites (cousin or not), so I suggest you NO LONGER PERMIT "your YOUNG cousin" to use your electronic equipment.

In fact, you might wish to no longer allow him in your home, UNLESS you watch him like a CHICKEN HAWK watches CHICKENS, cluck, cluck!

I assume that you cannot prove that it was your cousin?

How old is this cousin?
