A good friend of mine was conviced of 2nd degree murder almost a year ago. He does not think he got a fair trial. The appeal process in NC says you have to file an appeal within 14 days of conviction so does that mean there is nothing he can do now? He had a court appointed lawyer who did not give him any information about appeals. Thanks
