is it illegal for a 19 uear old to kiss a 15 year old?

I have been friends with this girl for a while and we have been wanting to kiss for a wile but we are not sure if her parents are ok with it and we are afraid of wheather it is illegal or not. If it is illegal what are the consequences and if there is a way around it then what is it?

I don't think (or know) if there is a specific law against kissing a minor in California. But since you're of the age to be a college sophomore and she is of the age of a high school sophomore, this sounds like an incredibly bad idea, legal or not. There is no way around what usually happens next and, in addition, you should know that there is no "consent" that can be given by a minor when it comes to certain acts and actions. And understand that in the event you break it off with her and she gets upset and makes claims that could be her perspective of your interaction, then even if you successfully defend yourself you're still a 19 year old who has had a relationship with a minor.

What's the safest way? If you're worried about her parents, you should already be thinking about whether this is the right time to pursue the relationship further. The way around it? Perhaps to get married, with consent of her parents.

Agree, not a good idea with a 15 year old minor when you are an adult. What if she later says she didn't want you to kiss her but you did anyway - could get yourself into some trouble you don't want. (& many times kissing leads elsewhere) Also, you're not even sure her parents are ok with this - they can even say you are not to see one another.

Kissing itself is some what harmless if it stops at that! Chances are at some point you or her will try to take it to next level. This is where your trouble will begin. You also should be concerned about her parents if they disapprove of this relationship then its over. Over all this is a bad move for you! Find someone your own age and/or wait for this one to turn 18

You better keep your body parts away from hers or you might end up with criminal charges that will ruin your employment ability for the rest of your life.
