I am a roofing sales rep working for a mid sized roofing contractor. The company I work for specializes in insurance claim roof replacement and storm damage restoration in the State of Texas. I am new to this industry and skeptical about the common practice of roofing contractors not collecting customer insurance deductibles. Instead they pay customers a advertising and/or referral fee or discount that equals the amount of there deductible. Is this legal, am I participating in insurance fraud?
