Independent Contractor Deferred Compensation

I have been working for a CA Delaware company for over a year on deferred compensation.

I'm owed ~1 year's worth of full-time salary and want to know what schedule and amount I am able to receive this considering I'm an 'independent contractor' and whether I need to write a document for this.

I have essentially been told it'll be paid as a percentage of revenue each month which at this rate could take 3+ years to pay out.

Here's the excerpt from the contract: "In the event of such termination, Consultant shall be paid for any portion of the Services that have been performed prior to the termination."

I suggest you take your contract to a lawyer of your choosing.
You can request the lawyer to read, interpret, and explain the terms of the contract you believe as it applies to you.
No one can properly advise you about the terms of any contract without reading it in its entirety.
This forum is not set to to read and interpret contracts.
Sorry.
