A few years ago I opened a credit card in my then 18-yr old daughter's name, without her knowledge. I added myself as an authorized user. Since then I have never made any late payments on the thing and was just about to pay it off and close it when she found out.
I went to make the final payment online and saw that it was closed for security reasons. I called and was surprised to find myself listed as an authorized user on the new account (opened when the old one was closed), so they let me pay off the card. It now has a zero balance.
Because she hasn't spoken to me in a few years (unrelated, she no longer speaks to any family), I have no idea what she can/will do. She is no living across the country.
Now that I've paid it off, what do I do? What am I looking at? I am so ashamed and fearful of prison.
