I won a judgement that says I get $80,000 for legal fees with legal interest to run with filing and $225,000 compensatory damages with legal interest to run with filing.
How do I collect the money?

You can look into putting liens on property or you can hire a collection agency.
Does the person who owes you have the money?

Generally winning the judgment is easier than collecting. The court does not collect it for you. For that amount of money you might consider a collection agency. If the person has little or no non-exempt assets/income at this time, you will currently not have anything to collect from. Judgments are normally good for some time though & generally renewable - maybe the person will have some assets to collect from in the future if the person doesn't have any currently. Good luck.
