I sold a utility trailer to a friend but he refuses to pay

About 2 years ago, I sold a friend a utility trailer used in roofing. He gave me $1000 and verbally agreed to pay the rest in monthly payments. He still owes me $2000. All this time, I've talk to him and he said he had no money and I gave him extra time to pay. After several attempts to try to reason with him, I told him I was going to report the trailer stolen. He now lives in Missouri and that's where he has the trailer, he told me he doesn't care because he has already register the trailer. I have the title, but I don't know what to do. Should I contact my city's, Texas police or should I call the Missouri authorities? How can I get the trailer back?

The trailer isn't stolen and police won't help you. If you still have the title then you can look into doing a repossession.
Contact a repo company in his area and ask about the process.
