Can I be sued by my former roommate for moving expenses, such as the final move-out cleaning if she continued to occupy the house months after I moved? I paid what I felt was fair for the carpet to be cleaned and the house to be painted.

You can be sued for anything. Prevailing is a different question. But sure, if she was left holding the bag for damages you caused, she can sue you for them.

Yes.

Anybody can sue anybody for anything.

Depends on the terms and conditions of your lease or rental agreement, when you moved out and under what circumstance, nothing of which you have seen fit to reveal.

Feelings don't butter any parsnips and fair is in the eye of the beholder. Neither have anything to do with legal obligations.
