My husband was involved in an accident roughly 5 years ago and as a result $104,000 in restitution was ordered. I recently applied for a home equity loan and was denied based on a lien that showed up for the above amount. Both of our names are on the deed and I was in no way involved in the court proceedings or part of his case. How can they put a lien on a house that is half mine?? Is there anything I can do to rectify this situation and have the lien removed? HELP!! Thank you!! Nicole
