How to apply case dismiss on a Job Application?

Last year I stole clothes from the Mall and got arrested. I went to court, pay my fines, attended my class, and was on probation for a year. The judge stated that if I do finish everything the I can get my case expunge. I finish everything. I called my probation officer and he reccommended me to call the agency so I can get advice on what to do next. So I call them up and explain that I completed everything and ask what to do next. Then he contacted my probation officer and said it was ok and then he dismiss my case that day. When I check my public record the next 3 days it was not there anymore. So now I got a job offer at a really good fortune company and on my job application I applied saying I was not convicted because I got the case dismiss. Is that true or did I do something wrong here? How would I apply that on my application? Please help and let me know.
