I was convicted in 1991, in the State of Oregon, of 2nd degree burglary which is a class 'C' felony. Now, I know that, for the police, courts, etc it stays on your record until you have it 'expunged.' I am moving back to Oregon soon and all the prospective landlords I've spoken to on the phone want me to submit to a 'background' check just to get an appartment (criminal, credit, shoe size...you name it, they want to know it.)
So, my question is: How long does a class 'C' felony stay on your PUBLIC RECORD in Oregon (ie: the one these 'detectives' will be looking for?)
