Hotel staff entered my room without permission and move my stuff to another room

So my wife stayed at a hotel last week and something that I never herd happened. She had rented the room for 5 nights. On the third day when she went to open her door her key didn't work. She went down to the front desk only to find out they had entered her room and moved her stuff without permission. In the process of them moving her stuff some of her smaller item either were damaged on grown legs. IE case of water gone, medicine that was in the fridge in the first room was left out and went bad, and some of her bathroom item were damaged in the process of them moving from room to room. When she spoke to the manager he states that the floor that she was on was reserved for a baseball team and he couldn't get in contact with her so he moved her stuff without permission. Also remember that my wife had book the room for 5 days and this took place 3rd day. I need to know what we can do with this situation.

Yep. Complain to the company. This isn't a legal issue.
Did they do anything to compensate for the spoiled medicine and other losses?

Of course it is. The original post indicates property was damaged/destroyed.

Complaining is the first step. If that doesn't result in a satisfactory resolution, the OP's wife can sue in small claims court.
