Homes with Granny Units

If you are selling a home that has an illegal granny unit, can you market it's value legally? Where can i find the set of laws governing this area?

You can value it at anything you want - even 2 billion dollars. It doesn't mean anyone will buy your home. Personally, I'd think it's more a liability than an asset if it's illegal.
