Hi,

A family member filed bankruptcy about 8 years ago. Soon after left the home he was in, as he could not afford the mortgage. The bank has kept the home empty all these years, refusing to sell it or remove his name from the deed. He is not able to move on, get another mortgage or anything because of this. Can he file a quitclaim deed and transfer the deed to the banks name removing his? No one has seen anything like this a bank leaving the home empty, they pay the taxes every year as well, but will not sell the property.

I've seen it many times.
I don't know why this is affecting him such that he can't get a new mortgage for another home.
Doesn't matter why I don't know.
It's happening, but why would he wish to fall back into tHe mortgage credit trap?
He beat the rap with bankruptcy.
It's no longer his home, legally.
He's out from under the deceitful mortgage, so rent and be happy.
He can die debt free.
