I applied for a civilian gate guard job here at the base we are stationed at. The man in charge of doing the hiring called a girl who is one of the trainers for the civialian gate guards, she is active duty security forces, as is my husband. The man who does the hiring told her that I did good on my application and answering the questions about security, but he was told by the company that he couldn't hire me because my husband worked in the same squadron. I'm pissed that is not a valid reason I believe for not hiring me. right?

There is no illegal discrimination here it appears. They are allowed to habe a policy that prohibits relatives from working together.

Discrimination applies if the hiring was due to your husband belong to a protected class. His standing with squadrion is not a protected class
