Hi. I was wondering if it is a HIPPA violation for a doctor to change/alter records. This includes, deletion of diagnosis(no notes to show reason for deletion), added information to original set of records I had obtained. In short, I have five sets of records from same doctor, and each set is completely different.

Corrections, additions, revisions, updates aren't illegal.

    And it's HIPAA, not HIPPA.

HIPAA relates to the release and access to records. It does not relate to what is in them.

    So?

How did your doctor explain all that when you asked him?
