I recently got stoped at a checkpoint by campus police at the college that i go to only learn that i had a suspended license due to an insurance lapse on a old vehicle that i had owned several months earlier. I had turned in the plates but i did it to late and my license was suspended. Now, i thought that my license suspension was up on the First of December, so i started driving again. Now i know that my suspension is not up until the 19th. I have a clean record with no jail time or other offenses and am 20 years old. Should i be worried about the possible 30 day sentence that can come with AUO 3rd? Should i just plead guilty and try to explain the circumstances to the judge?
