My father is incapacitated and intubated in icu, his appointted healthcare proxy is his girlfriend. They are not married, and she is the benfactor of his life insurance policy. We do not believe she has his best interest at heart and has already made questionable decisions in which facility to transfer him to for a bronchoscope. Is there any legal action we as family can take to remove her as proxy? There is a secondary proxy in place in case she is removed, my fathers sister.
