I am currently working for a university through quota-exempt H-1B visa. Last year, I received a job offer from a for-profit company that filed for a quota-subject H-1B for me. The petition was approved but I never joined the company. Now, I have another job offer from another for-profit company. Is it possible to transfer my University H1B to this company?
The company that filed a petition for me last year has not revoked the visa yet, but they are not giving me the approval notice or any petition documents. All I have is the petition number (EAC-xxxxxxxxx). Can that visa or my university visa be transfered using this EAC number, my University visa and university pay stubs? I wonder if, since I have been counted against the 20000 quota once, can I use my University H1B approval notice and paystubs to transfer visa to the new for-profit company?
