Hi,

I am currently on an H4 Visa.
I had applied for H1-B through a consultant in april 08 and a few days back i was informed that i got through the lottery and my H1-B will be approved by July 08 and hence i can start working from OCT08.

Also i got through a good bschool and now i plan to do my full time MBA.So for that i will go on F1.

Now,what will happen to my H1 petition which was approved.I have heard that it remains valid for 6 yrs.So after my MBA i wouldn't have to go through the general 60k quota or Masters 20k quota since i got my petition already approved. Is this true that i'll be cap exempt later??

Also what will be good for me.Going to India for F1 stamping before Oct or applying for change of status while in US before oct or after oct??

Please advice

You can do change of status here...........the decision is yours...........why risk a denial by going to India? You would lose your H1B visa if you don't use it and go to school. You would have to re-apply again...........next time.
