Gym debt.. 3 years old

Back in Feb 2005, I signed up for a month trial membership at a gym.. I was told that after a month if I didn't want it, to let the front desk know. Which I did. I thought that was it.. but later, in Sept 2005 I got a letter of collection stating I owed them $638, I tried contacting them and going up there with no sucess. Then later, It got sent to a collection agency Anderson and Anderson lawyers.. They advised me I had to pay.. The last thing I ever got from them was Sept 2006 (mind you I have had 3 letters total 1 from the gym and 2 from the agency and no phone calls).. It has now been 2-3 years, and I forgot about it, until I got my credit report, and see it's on there.

I havent contacted anyone becuase I dont know if I should pay it, settle for something, get a lawyer.. I really dont know.

Any advice?
