Getting Custody

My husband's nephew and his wife have agreed to sign legal custody papers or guardianship over to us. They have been doing drugs and want the baby to go to a relative if they are to get caught. What action do I need to take to get custody of the baby? Are there any forms that I can fill out and have them sign??

You should file for temporary custody through the courts.

Anything you print up online is not legally binding, but if you can get both parents to sign it and have it notarized, that might buy you some time until you get official custody.

without this going through the courts, they can come pick up the baby at any time so I highly recommend seeing an attorney and doing it right.
