Technically, the bank can garnish your wages after a foreclosure if the judgment amount that they receive is in excess of the amount that they receive for the sale of the property. This is a simple answer to a general set of facts. Your situation should be investigated with your lawyer.

The lender must obtain a judgment against you before it can garnish your wages. Some foreclosure cases do not end in personal judgment. You should look at your foreclosure Complaint to see if the lender asked for a personal deficiency judgment and whether the Court issued an Order granting such a judgment against you.
