A year ago, I bought a franchised business and the franchise was transferred to me. After a year, I can see that there are many things I was not told about the franchise before purchase. I did not get a UFOC. When I questioned the franchise about this omission, I was told the a UFOC is not required on a transfer. Can this be possible? Just because it was a transfer, do I not have the same rights as a new franchisee to this company?

I don't know what a UFOC is off hand but I am assuming that all the things you weren't "told" might be in your written agreement or referenced. That's where you need to look.
