Hi,
After getting a lot of legal advice on a case that I mentioned in another post, it seems that I am going to plead out for what they call 'first offender probation'. According to people I have talked to, upon successful completion of first offender probation, your case is dismissed.
A couple questions...
Does this mean that after my probation is over, I don't have to disclose the conviction when applying for jobs?
Will it show up in background checks, and will it help me in getting a job if it's dismissed, but still shows up??
Also, I know that because I am facing a drug charge, that part of my probation will be mandatory drug screening.
How soon after being sentenced should I expect to have to submit to a urine test?? I plan on staying clean, obviously, to avoid more trouble, but I'm wondering if I will be in trouble because I decided to use marijuana before I am convicted that might show up on the day of sentencing if they choose to test me?
Anything else I should know about probation in Illinois?? Curfews, jobs, any other requirements you know of?
