My girlfriend started working for a college as a Psychology proffessor and was shortly there after diagnosed with brain cancer. She continued to work through her illness and treatment even after brain surgery...... She missed a few meetings along the way due to the treatment days where she couldn't even get out of bed to call... Now they are firing her and she will loose her medical benefits, she busted her tail to keep doing her job for them and now she might be left without coverage. Even with everything that happened she still managed to teach well and get good reviews? Is this legal?

Thanks,
Jeramy

That depends.

1.) How long has she worked for this employer?
2.) How many employees does the employer have? (You don't say how large a college, and it does matter to the answer to your question)
3.) How much time, total, has she missed due to her illness in the last 12 months?
4.) Is she medically able to do the job she was hired to do? If not, is there a REASONABLE accomodation the employer could implement that would permit her to do so?
