Business Debt, Collections Filling a cross Claim for a collections hearing.

I was in business with a person for a few months, he was reluctant to fill out the out contract and decided that the terms we agreed on were not to his liking. so he bought the whole business back from me and signed a piece of paper saying that he is responsible for a financial transactions and debt for the llc and business. Long story short a year and a half later a food distributor calls me because my name was on the credit app for that vendor. but i have paper work saying i left that business and he is taking responsibility for it. they are sueing me and him but can i make a cross claim in court to shift full responsibility to him and have it taken off my record.
