I just received a corrected W2 from my employer; well after the filing deadline. The change was an increase in the Social Security Tax Withholding. No change to reportable income. Do I really need to file an amended return?

I just received a corrected W2 from my employer; well after the filing deadline. The change was an increase in the Social Security Tax Withholding. No change to reportable income. Do I really need to file an amended return?

If the change neither increases nor decreases your income there is no point to filing an amended return and the IRS won't want to see it.
