Fence supports

In our subdivision we have 2 rail white vinyl fences that per the covenant can be 4 ft but most are between 30-36" when they were originally installed. It is common practice to put up wire that goes over the fence top and some people have supported that additional wire with rebar or wood stakes and in two instances with variations of the white vinyl. We submitted and received approval for the 4 ft wire and we indicated it would go above the existing fence. At the same time we asked for permission to build a planter box. The ARC committee called us and asked all sorts of questions about how we were building the box, materials etc... But no questions about the installation of the wire. The covenants indicate that the fence has to be maintained with the same materials it was constructed with so we used white vinyl 1.75" supports on each post to support the extra wire. We are now being asked to remove the posts. Do we have a chance at winning in meDiation?

Those CCRS and the nazis that enforce them can be very tough. Toss a coin, call it. That's about as good as me giving you an answer. :dunno:
