What is the recourse for someone being falsely accused by an adult of sexually abusing a minor?

Your question appears often in the world of Internet legal discussion.

AVVO had such a discussion recently, and a PA licensed attorney (Stephen Gehringer) gave a great generic, but informative response. Have a look see:

Can I file charges against a person making false accusations in court twice after the first accusation was expunged - Avvo.com[/QUOT
Thanks, but doesn't seem to offer much hope. A little more background. A women with a vendetta (difficult, not impossible to prove) brings a young girl to a couple's house and then makes the (false) claim that the husband sexually abused the child. The husband gets arrested, charged with several accounts, reputation shattered, his ex seizes the opportunity to get sole custody of his kids, he is not allowed to be in his OWN home with his current wife's kids, and so on.
The question is: even if he is eventually is proven 100% innocent, and even if he proves that the accuser completely fabricated the story and had malicious intent, is there anything to do now- at this point to ward off the punishments he is already suffering from?

He might consider talking to a lawyer.
