I live in Michigan and moved in a house with some friends, when I lost my job. I am trying to get emergency assistance from the state to help my children and I move. I have lived with my friend for a year and paid her 300 a month for rent but there is no lease. After moving in I found out that the house we are living in is not legally owned by my friend that a friend bought it for her but never gave her a legal lease or land contract, the state has found out about it and said that if the house is to be a rental then there can only be one family living here so I have to leave. Since we have no lease she gave me an eviction notice for over occupancy, but to get emergency help from the state I need a court ordered eviction notice, now I am supposed to move on by the 31st of this month but I was told with no lease I do not have to have a legal eviction notice I don't know what my rights are. I need to get out of here but I cant with out the help from the state what do I do
