employer change of last pay date

jan 14th i was told i was being laid off for lack of work and would be paid through jan 28th. on jan 25th after recieving a recipet of 2185.59 the amount of my check through the 28th i found that the employer pulled the check from my account and has now sent me a new end pay date of jan 14th. how do i collect for the 14 days that i was told was due me.

Who told you that you were being paid through the 28th? Were you entitled to have been paid? Perhaps your employer thought that this was a mistake and that is why they pulled the check -- how do you know this occurred?
