Emotional Stress Suit

You invest money but the stock goes down. As a result, you have some type of breakdown and end up losing your job. Can you sue the advisor who put you in the stock for emotional stress? From New Jersey and thanks,

Froggie - I'm sorry to hear about your losses in the market. :( However, why would you feel that you should be able to sue the broker? Unfortunately stock brokers are trained salespeople and not seers or psychics. There is a risk going into the market and they cannot be held liable for the fact that things don't work out.

Did this broker actually misrepresent facts to you or was this just a case of great "puffery" and an eventual downturn? Most people blame the Wall Street analysts, who are probably more at fault although difficult if not impossible to sue because of no relationship that you have with the financial charlatans.
