I have lived in Michigan for the past year, about 6 months ago I got an OWI in Indiana. When this happened my Indiana drivers license was suspended (I had this license from previously living in Indiana) but my Michigan license was never suspended and they wouldn't transfer my probation to Michigan because Michigan said it was a non-transferable offense. Today I recieved a letter from Michigan saying I had to pay $1000 this year and $1000 next year for the Driver Responsibility Law. Is this legitamate since the crime didn't occur in Michigan. Is it worth seeking legal help to try to fight this? Thanks for your help.
