Recently I was assaulted and I had the person arrested. When it went to pre hearing, it was deemed trial worthy. The person who assaulted me contacted me and offered a deal, he would drop charges he had on me in DE if I dropped these charges and didn't go to trial. I like the deal and Tuesday I'm going to discuss it with my attorney. But I'm curious, since the court already set the wheels in motion for a trial, can I stop it, do I have to testify if I don't want to anymore?

I wouldn't drop my charges until he dropped his. And yes they can go ahead with the charges and supeana you to testify whether you want to or not depending on how serious they feel the charges are and if it is worth their time (and their perosnal convictions) and effort to pursue it. What state are you posting from or where you files your assualt charges? May be a law depending on your case that case can't be dropped.
