So I was emailed from someone who found me through a job hunting site that asked me to print up payroll checks for his business. He had someone send me a $3200 check to get all the supplies that I would need. The check was a payroll check from the Medical University of South Carolina. When I tried to cash it, it came up as a stolen check, and was confiscated. So I have several questions here: 1) Do I try to sue or press charges in any way? 2) I tried to have the clerk at the check cashing spot to write me up something or give me a copy of the check with his signature stating that it was stolen in case something came up, but he refused, all i have is the receipt saying that they refused to cash it. The question here is do I have a legal right to obtain a document of the sort? 3) Is there any way that I can get into trouble for this? Just to let you all know, I am located in Cleveland, OH, and I have every e-mail that was sent between us.

Have you been charged as being a co-conspirator in a money laundering scheme?

No, I haven't been charged with anything, all of this just happened today. After I posted this, I called my local police department, they told me to call the FBI because it was interstate, and in turn, the FBI gave me a website to file a report on. I'm not really worried about whether or not I can sue, if I can and get something good out of it, awesome. But I'm worried alot more about whether or not I can get charged with anything, and if the check cashing place is obligated to give me anything stating that they found it was a stolen check
