My ex-husband and I had a consolidated federal student loan. At the time of our divorce, he agreed to take the debt since majority of it was his. He has allowed the student loan to go into default, which I was never sent a letter that this had happened, and the loan was sold to another student loan company... which i think twice. NOW, I have received a letter from this loan company that it is now in default... I need to know who what kind of lawyer I am to see, and or what the heck am I to do?? I seriously need help. The original balance has sizeably became larger due to him putting it in a deferred status and such. I need to do something quickly!!! What are my options?

A civil attorney will do. The sooner you proceed, the better.
