my wife abandoned me in georgia. she is living in west memphis, AR. we were married in NY state. do i need to divorce her in arkansas? is it possible to bring her to trial for alimony? she was taking care of all the financial obligations so that i could work as an artist, and this was her idea. i had no income. she took all the money out of the bank and left while i was sleeping. do i have a case against her? does she have to show up for court? mostly i want her to have to face me in court. what are my legal rights and responsibilities?

thank you.

You ir her have to file for divorce in the state where either of you have residency for 6 months or longer. If you have lived in GA for 6 months or more then you file there. How long have u been married? You can ask for temp. spousal support but you are going to have to find some sort of paying job. See if you qualify for legal aid.
