My situation is this. In July of 2003 my divorce was final. Support/Alimony ordered in the amount of $900 per month. In July of 2005 I had major cancer surgery and have been unable to have/keep gainful employment.
I applyed for S.S. disablity at the time of my surgery and finally got approved in Sept of 2008, it is retroactive. From not working much my arearages accumulated to almost $20,000 I recived my first disablity check in Nov of 2008. In January they started garnishing my S.S. for $1120 per month. I only get $1700 per month and this is my only income.
Can I go to court and have this overturned or atleast to be retroactive?
