Did the Landlord break the Lease when house was put up for sale?

My question is if the landlord broke our lease when they put the house up for sale? Our lease was issued through 1-1-08 and the landlord put the house up for sale in 10-2007. Is this breaking the lease, and if it is, are we required to still pay rent for November even though we were out of the house by then? We moved out after she told us she was selling the house, but she says we still owe rent for November. Also, we were behind in rent due to my husband losing his job, but had set up arrangements to make monthly installments of back owed rent. She now sent us a letter via certified mail that we must pay all monies owed by Nov 30. Any advice on what our rights are would be great!
