My question is about Debt Collection from a car dealer that I purchased a vehicle from. My father helped me buy the vehicle by putting the down payment on his credit card, as a loan to me. The car dealer financed the balance to me in payments.
The vehicle is titled to only me, the contract for the vehicle is only in my name. The dealer calls my father every time I am a day late on my payment and proceeds to discuss my entire account, payment history, balance amoung other things.
I have asked the dealer not to do this, it is a breach of my privacy. They say it is not, they will continue to make these calls to get ahold of me, although they email me, call me, and I respond to them immediately.
They justify the calling of my father as he paid the down payment, but that was a loan to me, and he is in no way on any contract, title or anything else.
DO I HAVE ANY LEAGL RECOURSE IN THIS SITUATION?
