This story should serve as a warning to those considering renting out a room in your home, or offering room & board for a domestic worker.

This couple engaged the services of a live in nanny.

The nanny is 64 years old.

As with most things, all was well for a couple months.

That's when the nanny started to complain of illness.

That's also about the time she stopped caring for the family's children, refusing to leave her room, yet continuing to eat the couple out of house and home.

So, they tried to evict her.

They failed to color within the lines.

Their advice near the end of the article is quite telling.

    It's eye opening.

    It's also useful.

Saw that. She is on the CA court list for lawsuit abuse.

A nasty mess, but mostly because they didn't follow procedure.
They could easily have had this woman out in 30 days if they had given proper notice.

This is what happens when you're TOO cheap. Live in nanny, translated MAMMY, slavery ended in 1865.
Want a nanny? Hire one, don't trade room & board for wages with a person you know nothing about.
Nevertheless, you're right, Moose, follow the process, paint by the numbers, it's over much quicker. No doubt she'll be ordered out, but their way gave her more free time.
