Repairs, Maintenance Damaged apartment need advice

A stolen vehicle crashed into my sisters apartment
destroyed the bedroom and the apartment management
will not put her into another apartment,she has two small children
exposed to the cold weather , the apartment management said she
will have to wait untill they repair the apartment it has been 2-weeks.
What can she do to get into another apartment she has paid her rent
and is never late on payments.

Do they have a vacant apartment to put her in to?
Does your sister have renter's insurance?

If she has already waited 2 weeks then it makes me think it isn't really as bad as you might suggest... otherwise she needs to learn to stand up for herself.

If the apartment is really that bad, and if she is unable to heat it due to the damage, then she has a good argument to make. Have her take pictures of the damage and visit a local attorney for a quick consult. She may be entitled to a portion of her rent back on top of other damages.

It will be your sister's burden to prove that the damages are sufficient enough to make the apartment unsafe or unlivable... if a car crashed through the wall and it is exposed to the outside then she likely has a decent argument to make.

Tell her to stop wasting time.
