my mother's husband has a credit card and no money to pay back the cash advances he is taking out. If he is to pass away will my mother be resposible for this credit card balance? The card is only in his name and he tries to hide the statement from her.

It depends on what the dough used for.

For example, if pa buys a nice couch and then he passes, ma can either pay for the couch or sell it and give the dough to the creditors.

Also, if the dough is used for medical/health costs, ma could be liable.

(Hint: Cut up the credit card yesterday.)

what is that supposed to mean? All I want to know is will she be responsible for paying this card that does not even have her name on it
