I am building a home in Washington, DC. In 2006 I hired a construction company, I put down a down payment of $56,000. The plans have been held up in the DCRA for almost two years due to constant revisions with my architect. My construction company told me that they don't have my down payment anymore. What can I do. I am very upset and don't know what to. I do have a signed contract between the construction company and I and my receipt of down payment.
